I've been diagnosed with Kienböck's Disease, which is a major setback for myself as a pixel artist, and as a person in general. It affecs something like 1 out of every 200,000 people. I always knew something would happen to me with odds like that. I just hoped and assumed it would be the lottery heh.

Anyways, I'll just explain a bit what it is and what it does.

The hands and wrists are composed of many small bones. One of them in particular, the Lunate bone, may become injured from over-use of the joint or a traumatic event. In Kienböck's Disease, the bone is injured in such a way that the blood supply to it is cut off, and it dies.

In an advanced stage, the lunate bone is crushed, and absorbed into the body, causing the other carpal bones above to shift out of position, and cause much pain and restricted movement.

I'm now in the beginning of the last stage, As seen on the x-rays I had recently, my lunate bone is unrecognizeable, flattened and shattered. I have arthritis in my right wrist, and it moved into my fingers. I am right-handed, so it's become a major challange to do a lot of things. Pixel art being one of them.

Anyways, I'm on a four-month waiting list for surgery, for a Proximal Row Carpectomy, where they remove the lower row of wrist bones and the ones above move down to form a new wrist for me. I'm really not supposed to be using this hand at all, so any pixel art I'll be doing will be left-handed, which means it will probably take a really really long time. Yeah.
